Cook two things. Leave the week some room.

An anchor-meal plan that can bend when life changes.

Cook two things. Leave the week some room.

A useful week plan does not have to account for every bite. Choose one anchor meal for each day, then leave space for the meals you already know how to make, leftovers and plans that change.

Our planner follows that approach. It combines ingredients from the recipes you choose and scales them to the number of servings you need. It is a kitchen organizer, not a prescribed menu or nutrition target.

Pick two meals with different jobs

Choose one meal that is quick to assemble and another that can be cooked in a pot or tray. A white bean bowl fits the first job; lentil soup fits the second. That gives you something fresh and something warm without repeating the same preparation every day.

Look at your actual calendar. A busy evening may call for a simple bowl, while another day leaves time for roasting. Planning against the time you have is more useful than choosing a recipe because the picture looks ambitious.

Make the overlap do some work

Recipes using the same lemon, spinach or tomatoes can shorten the shopping list. Add them to the planner, then inspect the totals. Shared ingredients combine only when their measurement units match, so a can and a dry cup remain separate.

The list shows quantities needed, not how many packs a store sells. Round up when buying a package, then decide where the remainder could fit. A little spare spinach might go into breakfast toast rather than becoming another shopping item.

Schedule leftovers deliberately

Do not put the same cooked pot on a seven-day refrigerator plan. Consult the storage chart for the specific food and freeze a suitable portion when your schedule extends beyond its refrigerator window. Label it with its contents and date.

Leaving a day open is a useful feature. It can stand for a meal out, a familiar recipe or a decision you will make later. It is not a missing piece that needs a purchase to complete the week.

Save a plan you can change

Save stores the week in this browser. Download puts the day choices and shopping list in one text file. Check the list against your kitchen before you leave and carry the revised plan rather than trying to remember every ingredient.

If the week changes, swap the recipe or clear that day. The basket recalculates from the current plan. This is meant to reduce small decisions, not turn dinner into another rigid commitment.

Try it in your week.
